This award is offered each year for excellent work on the topic published or broadcast in Canada. Work submitted should be in the public interest in accordance with the principles of the Mindset guide. The award is sponsored by the Canadian Mental Health Association and independently adjudicated. The criteria have been framed to celebrate excellence in stories about the mental health of children, youth and young adults, including a range of issues or conditions that, uncorrected, can contribute to trauma and suicide.  

For the 2022 competition, free online applications will open on January 3, 2023 and close on January 27, 2023. A link to the application form will appear on the rules page at that time. Applications may be made by media organizations by journalist/s responsible for the work.
